On a recent Sunday night at neighborhood favorite Tupelo located on Grant Avenue in San Francisco’s North Beach neighborhood, ‘The North Beach Jazz Playahs’ featuring Bay Area songstress Disha (Dilsad Calkavur) in this impromptu rendition of ‘Valerie’ – originally recorded in 2006 by Liverpool group ‘The Zutons’ and later made famous by Amy Winehouse and Mark Ronson. The 2006 track was written about Valerie Star – a make-up artist who previously dated Zutons front-man Dave McCabe.
