From the archives, circa 2008, an old Pax Urbana random blues
From the archives, Hans Kloepfer, referred to comically as ‘Hipster ® Jesus ‘, and Angus Martin perform the first song of Hans’s nautical trilogy, ‘Gibraltar’.
Set in the 1920’s, it’s the story of a young woman whose true love embarks at sea, on a ship, perishing in a shipwreck on Gibraltar, never to return home. The trilogy is sung from the different perspectives, his, hers, and the lighthouse keeper she marries gaining access to the lighthouse key, so she can look for her true love’s ship.
This was recorded pre 2010 with rudimentary means, so the levels unfortunately cannot be adjusted.
During some experimental sessions, Steve Egelman delivers a beautiful rendition of his own song called ‘Feeling Around’.
