January 2026’s ‘First Friday’ hosted by ‘Macchiarini Creative Design Jewelry and Sculpture’ on Grant Avenue in San Francisco’s North Beach neighborhood – with introduction by Dan Macchiarini and a talk of the passion for quilting by Marylyn Tesconi – followed by orchestrator Jessica Loos – alongside poets Steven Meloan, Yates Cessna, Carl Landauer and music with Stephen Truskolaski.
First Friday has been a tradition in North Beach since 2007.

Commemorating this first anniversary of Greg Stathes’ Memorial at San Francisco’s favorite Saloon – The Saloon on Grant Avenue – a tribute to our favorite North Beach Door Man and Saloon legend, Greg Stathes, who passed away in 2024 – with background music by ‘Groove Riders’ who played at his memorial. Greg was the Saloon’s doorman for decades and a North Beach fixture. The video consists of pictures Greg had collected over the years – displayed at his memorial.
