Vince Lateano Trio can be heard playing every Friday at Sweeties, from 6 to 9, delivering three sets of top-notch jazz. “I’ll Remember April” is a popular song and jazz standard about a romantic relationship ending, written in 1941 by Gene de Paul.

On a recent Sunday night at neighborhood favorite Tupelo located on Grant Avenue in San Francisco’s North Beach neighborhood, ‘The North Beach Jazz Playahs’ featuring Bay Area songstress Disha (Dilsad Calkavur) in this impromptu rendition of ‘Valerie’ – originally recorded in 2006 by Liverpool group ‘The Zutons’ and later made famous by Amy Winehouse and Mark Ronson. The 2006 track was written about Valerie Star – a make-up artist who previously dated Zutons front-man Dave McCabe.
